Dictionary
Carbon Footprint - Total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions caused directly or indirectly by a person, organization, activity or product. It is calculated by summing the emissions from each stage of the life of a product or service (material production, manufacturing, use and end-of-life). Over the lifetime or life cycle of a product, different GHGs such as carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) can be emitted, each with a greater or lesser ability to trap heat in the atmosphere.

Global Warming - The long-term warming of the Earth's surface observed since the pre-industrial era (between 1850 and 1900) due to human activities, particularly fossil fuel burning, which increases the levels of heat-trapping greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere.
